BE PROTECTIVE FROM THE DANGERS OF THE INTERNET
The protection of young people from various types of risks and challenges related to the developments of our current era is the most prominent priority of the United Arab Emirates, and this is particularly embodied in the initiatives that are adopted at all levels, and the decisions and laws that are formulated from time to time represent an essential means to crystallize the intentions of government agencies concerned with the world Childhood is a vivid translation of public policies in this context, as the level of great progress achieved by the state during the past few years in the field of information technology, accompanied by a great official awareness of the challenges related to that on the safety and security of children, especially the Internet, which has many negative aspects in parallel with the provision of Pros for society and the state.
By tracking some of
the steps taken by the UAE to reduce the negative effects of the Internet, it
becomes clear to us the extent of the understanding of those in charge of
public affairs in the various dimensions of the rapid development in the field
of the Internet and the actions that can accompany that harm the interest of
the nation and tamper with the security and lives of its citizens. Since
childhood in its various stages represents the weakest link in any society, the
state has devoted all its efforts to prevent it from being exposed to all
methods that some resort to harming it, such as deceiving adolescents and
tempting them to adopt ideas that destroy society and exploit them to serve the
goals and agendas of terrorist groups or criminal gangs.
During the past few
years, the state has adopted several strategies aimed at protecting children
and adolescents from the dangers of cyberspace and limiting their exposure to
any data that may affect their value ideas or expose them to exploitation and
extortion. To the Council Working Group on the Protection of Children from
Internet Dangers at the headquarters of the International Telecommunication
Union in Geneva, to discuss a plan to develop global guidelines for protecting
children from the negatives of the Internet, and to exchange experiences and
experiences among member states, to build effective and effective programs to
educate children and their parents about the risks related to technology, And
ways to safely deal with it.
The choice of the
UAE to chair this meeting stems from the participating entities ’evaluation of
their successful experience in protecting children from the dangers of the
Internet, as well as their ability to achieve the safety of individuals and
societies in general on the information network, which leads to the promotion
of happiness, prosperity, and security in all countries of the world.
Therefore, it is not surprising today that the UAE is classified as one of the
safest countries in the world in the digital field, and it is not surprising
that many countries of the world seek to benefit from their experience in
managing cyberspace and Internet content in a manner commensurate with the
security and level of children and adolescents and their harmony. With their
skills and cognitive abilities.
The success of the
UAE in creating a balance between benefiting from the Internet and being wary
of its damages is primarily due to the keenness of its leadership to provide
the appropriate environment to keep pace with modern internet
security software technology and at the same time to link it to the needs
of society and its harmony with its privacy. Among the most prominent examples
of this is what was stated in the contents of a previous statement by Her
Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, President of the General Women's Union,
President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, and Supreme
President of the Family Development Foundation (Mother of the Emirates), where
she called on the occasion of the International Day of Safe Internet - which
comes in On the sixth of February of each year - all state institutions, and
parents and mothers, to intensify efforts aimed at creating effective
mechanisms of action that reinforce a comprehensive awareness base for all
users of social media and the Internet in general, to inform them of its
benefits and harms. Her Highness said, “...
